Alvu pakoda is one of the famous street foods of Kashmir. You will see vendors making fresh and selling them with onion chutney. Yum some of these pakodas with a cup of tea will make my day.
Method:
2 medium potatoes
1 cup Rice flour
1tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp red chilly powder
Water
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Ingredients:
Peel and wash the potatoes then slice them using a knife or a slicer for an even uniform size. In a bowl take the rice flour add water slowly make a thick batter. See to that no lumps are formed so add water slowly. Once its done add in the salt, cumin seeds, red chilly powder and mix well. If you like to add some color you can add. But I like it natural. Next you need to dip in the potato slices and coat them well with the rice flour batter mixture. Every slice should be covered with the batter. Keep it ready. In a big kadai pour in oil for fry. Once oil is hot drop in the slices one by one not letting them stick to each other and fry them until crisp and take them out in a plate with tissue to soak the excess oil. Enjoy these pakodas with a cup of tea or with onion chutney.
Note:
Same manner you can make lotus stem pakodas and boiled egg also can be used instead of vegetable. Enjoy !!!
