When I have prepared dal or some veg curries I make this simple fish fry. Its spicy and tasty. Just little serving of it completes the whole meal. I had bought big slices of king fish so used one slice to make for myself. You can use any other meaty fish you like.
Ingredients
1 big slice of king fish or 3 medium slices of any fish
1tsp garlic paste
1 tsp red chilly powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp fennel seed powder
A pinch dry ginger powder
2 cloves
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Method:
Wash the fish slice very well and dry in colander. Mean while in a bowl add in red chilly powder, turmeric powder, fennel seed powder and dry ginger powder and salt. Mix all well and add one cup of water. Stir this mixture well and keep it ready. Once done rub the fish slice with pinch of salt. Heat a pan pour in 2 tbsp oil and fry fish golden brown both sides keeping flame on medium. Then take out the fried fish in plate. In same pan with oil add in garlic paste saute for few seconds and add in the spice mixture water. Stir well until raw smell goes away. Add in clove. Now pour in half cup of water and let it come for boil. Once its boiling add in fried fish. Let it boil on high for 5 minutes then simmer it for 10minutes. In between Turn the fish slices using spoon carefully. So each side is immersed with gravy. The gravy should be thick and leave out oil. Your fish fry is ready. If you like more gravy you can add in more water. But i like it dry just coating the fish. Enjoy
Note:
I mostly prepare it one hour before eating so that fish absorbs all the flavor of spices.
