Toddler recipe 1-Moong dal bathe ( yellow moong dal with rice)


If you have a toddler at home or you want something light for your stomach and it should be filling too then yellow moong daal and rice is perfect combination.
Lentils have numerous health benefits and yellow moong is among the top list as its gentle on stomach unless like other lentils which leave you gassy.
To make this nutritious meal you need
Ingredients:
Small cup yellow moong dal
1/4 cup rice
1 tbsp chopped onion
1tbsp chopped tomato
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 garlic
A pinch turmeric
A pinch red chilli powder / can be omitted
Salt
Water
Method:
1.Wash rice and moong dal together and drain.
2. In pressure cooker heat 1 tbsp oil or ghee and fry chopped onion.
3. Add in cumin seeds, garlic and tomato.
4. Add in salt and turmeric and chilli powder if using.
5. Give a good stir.
6. Add the rice and dal to it.
7. Add 2 cups of water.
8. Pressure cook upto 4 whistles.
9. Once pressure is released. Open the lid. Gently stir.
10. Serve warm.
Tip:
If giving to baby as food then make a smooth paste in grinder or give more whistles to soften it more.
